J. made me feel better (having worked a few months in the hospitality industry). He said that probably nothing happened because there's no way for the hotel to verify whether I was telling the truth about my missing stuff or not, so it's highly unlikely that they fired anybody or anything over it. Also, when I called to inform the hotel, they were like: "Oh, okay! Thanks." in the most chipper and totally not caring voice possible. This was hotel security I was speaking to too.

So it is probably okay.
